Fix Your Dating Profile & Get the Connection You Want! PART 4: How Do I Fill Out the About Me Section of My Online Dating Profile?

August 11, 2020

This area should contain a few sentences about what makes you unique. Be specific about what you like and what you’re looking for. It's the first section someone will see after your main profile picture – make it count! Focus on specifics and you’ll be able to attract someone who finds you unique and interesting. There are certain things that resonate with you, and qualities in a person that feel good to you in a relationship. Mention those things. The goal is to get people who are potential matches to start talking to you, not to get hundreds of messages from partial matches. Your ego might enjoy the attention of multiple messages, but ultimately it will be a waste of your time.

Fix Your Dating Profile & Get the Connection You Want! PART 3: How Do I Fill Out the Stats and Preferences Sections of My Online Dating Profile?

July 27, 2020

There are a few different sections to most dating profiles, and today we're going to cover stats and preferences, specifically your age, your height, your current relationship status, and what you’re looking for. I'm focusing on these areas because this is where I see the most confusion, especially for single men, but the advice can apply to anyone, and the guidelines are for every part of your profile.

Fix Your Dating Profile & Get the Connection You Want! Part 2: What Online Dating Apps Should I Use?

    July 16, 2020

There are many options to choose from for online dating. I will cover a few of that I’ve used here, and I also advise you to search online for “best dating apps for ______” and fill in the blank for your location or specific interest. Many people have already taken the time to write about dating in your area or how to meet someone who shares your interests (farming, beards, dating over 40, dating for single parents, etc.), so take advantage of that. Another way to approach this is to search for “best niche dating sites” and see if there are any that pique your interest.

Fix Your Dating Profile & Get the Connection You Want! Part 1: Why Should I Use Online Dating Apps?

      July 07, 2020

Are you new to online dating? Scared to even start? Or are you already using dating apps, but you're frustrated because you're not getting the connections you want? Don't worry, I'm here to help you!

Raise your hand if you've had any of these thoughts:

      • Why do I have to go online, can't I just meet someone in person?
      • What happened to the good old fashioned way of doing things?
      • I don't like online dating, everyone there is fake.
      • I've have terrible luck with online dating, nobody will message me back, or if they do, they eventually flake or ghost.
      • I'm too old for online dating.

What does being "Bad at Art" even mean?

      June 25, 2020

Were you ever told that you were bad at art? Or maybe nobody said that to you, but you just feel really clumsy any time you’ve tried it? Have you ever had an idea and then when you tried to draw or paint it, it looked nothing like you imagined?

For many years, I told myself I wasn’t an artist. I didn’t go to art school. I wasn’t taking any art classes. I didn’t have “natural talent.”  I became frustrated whenever I would take a pen to paper, because I could never make what I saw in my head a reality.  I decided I was "bad at art.”

What I've been doing for the last few months - Limited Edition Seed Bead Earrings now available!

      June 22, 2020

A few months ago, after my regular day job abruptly ended due to COVID, I started to clean out my art and craft supplies. I came across a box of beads that I probably hadn't touched since 1995. It contained seed and bugle beads that I used to make jewelry from. The box was a mess, different bead colors and sizes mixed together, some also entangled in knotted bunches of thread. I set about sorting, thinking maybe I could sell them, and found something calming about this mindless task. But in the process, I started to want to create again! So here is my first attempt at resurrecting an old skill, a limited edition collection using vintage beads and some contemporary beads as well. The soft pink beads in this collection are circa 1992, and once they're gone, that will be the end of this particular set!
